Our Little Nomster
Oh, Zavier. I used to wonder why you were underweight, but now, I look at these photos of you “nomming” away at 7 months and realize it might be because you end up wearing more food than you eat.
Actually, these photos don’t do you justice. My little camera couldn’t capture the sheer magnitude of your messiness.
You love to feed yourself, and you actually do a pretty good job of it, but somehow, every time your meal is over I end up picking bread crumbs off your face and out of your hair, trying to figure out both how to get the broccoli out of your ears and how you got it in there in the first place, and chasing you around your high chair {you can really move in that thing!} with a wet wipe trying to clean banana out of your nose.
This of course is before I end up on my hands and knees picking food out of the carpet {because by this time, you’re asleep and it’s now too late to use the vacuum}, and in the mirror cleaning it out of my hair/clothes {unless of course it’s one of those days I don’t notice it until a mom at the park tells me I have sweet potato on my sweater}.
…and let’s be real here – most days I just end up with chunks of green beans still in the carpet and baby oatmeal somewhere on my sweater because really, you’re just gonna do it all again in a couple of hours, so what’s the point?
It’s a little easier to accept having a messy little “nom”ster around when he’s as cute as you. ;)

What a treasure this is! Writing to him while hes still a baby. He’ll love seeing these things when hes older.
And oh, wait until you feed him spaghetti! You think you have a messy baby now!
Thanks, Karen. :) I’ve noticed it’s a lot more fun/natural writing to him rather than about him.
And yeah, no spaghetti yet! I’ve seen those pictures! He would absolutely be the kid with the bowl upside down on his head and the noodles and sauce everywhere. :/ Not to mention his habit of throwing food…yeah…no spaghetti!
We got a dog. She cleans the floor under Squish’s seat. Highly recommend.
Lol. You’re hilarious. And that’s genius!
JeLisa, don’t sweat the mess, Zavier gets it honestly…his dad and uncle were messy eaters as babies also8-}
Galen still is a messy eater. ;) Lol!
Lol, I know we have to let them feed themselves and explore their foods, but man the messes drive me crazy and I wonder if they’re actually getting enough down! Lol makes for great stories and photos though!
Yeah! When I look down and it looks like half the food I gave him is in his lap and on the floor, I wonder if he ate enough. :/
